Changing Spaces

Oh how fun the last few days have been. The contractor wrapped up the remodel of the basement, which I have been waiting 5 years for. He was able to create a bedroom for you that is bigger than the one you had. Its also much cooler down here, so we are both sleeping better. You now have a walk/roll in shower that is so much easier to use. It took you a minute to get used to it but once you did, you seemed to relax. You also have your very own kitchenette and living room space, as well as a space to do all your therapies comfortably. Tomorrow the furniture from Ikea is supposed to be here, which gives me the chance to clean everything up and organize all of your supplies. The couches and recliner came today and even though they wont fit in the space the way that I had in mind, we were able to get them to work. Tomorrow you will also get a new TV for the living room space and I think I am probably more excited about it than you are. This space is so nice! I can't wait to see how muc

Leaps and Bounds

You impress me every single day! The other day we went to see your pulmonologist and the appointment went amazing! It's crazy to think that when you came to us in December, you were on hospice. Now, not only is hospice gone but everyone is so impressed with your progress. Pulmonology was so impressed that they agreed to start room air trials to see if we can get you off the oxygen altogether, as well as reach out to the palliative doctor to share her assessment of you. I have you on the waiting list for the Trexo so that we can get you up and walking for the first time in your life! We are working on getting you into water therapy of some kind, even if I have to do it myself. The basement is almo

Things are getting real!

I have struggled lately with keeping up on this blog, which is sad because I wanted to try and keep all the memories I could of each day that I get to be your mom. I guess this was an unrealistic expectation but I hope to do a lot better. I have been doing a lot of research to make your life better and am finding so many things that I want for you. Your biological father has given us the green lot to make you our son officially by allowing us to adopt you. Ecstatic doesn't even begin to describe how this makes me feel. Its been very difficult trying to figure out how to make this dream a reality. I have called so many lawyers and agencies trying to get assistance with the process. It finally happened. We found an amazing lawyer that wants to help us make you legally our son. The next day, I took you to get your new glasses. Your reaction was absolutely priceless, making everyone present tear up. It felt so good to know that you can finally see the world! We were able to start cons
